Tide Command
Tide Command drops you in charge of a small fleet and asks you to think three moves ahead. It's real-time but pausable, so you can stop and plan when things get chaotic. Supply lines matter as much as firepower — I lost my first campaign because I pushed too far from port and ran my ships dry.
The weather system is the standout. Storms scatter formations and shift the map's rhythm, and learning to use them against the enemy AI feels great. The interface is clean once you get past a fairly dense tutorial, and everything works on a touchscreen without needing a controller.
It's not a quick game. Sessions run long and demand attention, so it's better for a lazy afternoon than a bus ride. But if you like squeezing every advantage out of terrain and timing, there's a lot of depth here.
What we liked
- Weather that genuinely changes tactics
- Supply management that rewards planning
- Pausable real-time combat that respects touch
